Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Content Author to develop accurate, well-researched, and compliant legal content for a wide range of professional and commercial purposes. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal knowledge, exceptional writing abilities, and the capacity to translate complex legal concepts into clear, accessible, and authoritative content tailored to diverse audiences.
This role requires a strong understanding of U.S. laws, regulations, and legal writing standards, along with a commitment to precision, consistency, and ethical content development.
Key Responsibilities:
Research, write, edit, and review high-quality legal content, including but not limited to:
Legal articles and educational materials
Practice guides and compliance documentation
Website and marketing legal content
White papers, case summaries, and policy explanations
Ensure all content is accurate, current, and aligned with applicable U.S. federal and state laws.
Translate complex legal concepts into clear, professional, and reader-friendly language.
Collaborate with legal professionals, editors, and subject-matter experts to validate content accuracy.
Maintain consistency in tone, terminology, and formatting across all legal publications.
Monitor changes in laws and regulations to update existing content as needed.
Ensure compliance with ethical, copyright, and confidentiality standards.
Meet deadlines while managing multiple content projects simultaneously.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Law, Legal Studies, Journalism, English, or a related field (Juris Doctor preferred).
Proven experience in legal writing, legal content creation, or editorial work within a U.S. legal context.
Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state laws and legal terminology.
Exceptional written communication, grammar, and proofreading skills.
Ability to conduct thorough legal research using reliable and authoritative sources.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
U.S. residency required (citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
Prior experience writing for law firms, legal publications, compliance teams, or legal technology companies.
Familiarity with SEO best practices for legal content.
Experience with content management systems (CMS).
Annual Compensation:
Salary Range: $75,000 – $105,000 USD per year, commensurate with experience, education, and location.
