Game Developer
Job Description:
The Game Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining interactive gaming applications across platforms. This role collaborates closely with designers, artists, product managers, and engineers to create engaging, high-performance gaming experiences. The Game Developer contributes to the full development lifecycle, including concept implementation, gameplay mechanics, system architecture, and performance optimization in a fully remote environment.
This position is strictly limited to candidates who currently reside in the United States and are legally authorized to work in the U.S. Applications from individuals residing outside the United States will be rejected.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement gameplay features and mechanics
Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
Collaborate with designers and artists to integrate assets and animations
Optimize game performance across devices and platforms
Debug and resolve technical issues and gameplay bugs
Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices
Support multiplayer systems, backend integrations, or in-game economies (as applicable)
Contribute to system architecture and technical documentation
Conduct testing and quality assurance for stability and performance
Stay current with industry trends, tools, and emerging technologies
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
3–6 years of professional experience in game development
Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, or similar
Experience with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, or comparable platforms)
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
Experience with debugging and performance optimization
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing for mobile, console, or PC platforms
Knowledge of multiplayer networking and backend systems
Familiarity with graphics programming and rendering pipelines
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Understanding of Agile or Scrum development methodologies
Experience shipping at least one commercial game
